Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Srinagar and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
Officers from Police Station Parimpora at a checkpoint established at Toyota Crossing arrested a drug peddler identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin Ganaie son of Mohd Ibrahim resident of Gund Hassi Bhat and recovered 19 bottles of codeine phosphate & 12 strips of Spasmoproxyvon from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Pertinent to mention here that the accused was evading his arrest since 13/03/2022, when officers led by SHO PS Parimpora under the supervision of SDPO West raided his house following an input regarding hoarding of drugs at his residential house and recovered 236 bottles of Corex dumped inside the house.
In this regared, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Parimpora and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddler in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddler should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
