Excise Dept engages students through Art & Drama at GGHSS Kothibagh

September 13, 2025 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Excise Range Central Kashmir conducted a powerful awareness campaign against the growing menace of drug abuse at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh.

The programme was filled with vibrant activities, a painting competition, nukkad natak, speech competition and a Rally on the theme ‘Nasha Mukht J&K Abhiyan.’

Students poured their hearts into their performances, expressing their creativity, fears, and hopes through striking artwork, stirring words, and thought-provoking acts. Their voices carried a strong message, ‘Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.’

Excise officials addressed the gathering with deep concern, sensitising the students about the devastating consequences of drug abuse, not just on individual health, but on families, communities, and the very future of our society. They reminded everyone that the fight against drugs is not the responsibility of law enforcement alone, but a collective mission where every young person has a role to play.

The officials also highlighted the importance of vigilance and encouraged students to make use of the Manas Helpline (1933) to report any drug-related activity, stressing that silence only fuels the spread of this menace.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and passionate involvement from both students and staff, turning the school into a hub of awareness, creativity, fervour and determination. The campaign reinforced a powerful truth, ‘our youth must invest their energy in education, productive hobbies, and positive activities’ not in substances that steal their dreams.
