FCS&CA intensifies monitoring of Petroleum Supply in Kashmir

In view of the prevailing geopolitical situation affecting petroleum supply chains, the Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Kashmir has intensified its monitoring mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted availability and delivery of petroleum and LPG products to consumers across the valley.

The Directorate is conducting regular inspections to curb hoarding and black marketing of petroleum products. So far, a total of 2427 inspections have been conducted across the Kashmir Division from 19 March 2026, during which 14 cases of hoarding and 6 cases of black marketing have been detected. Additionally, 108 LPG cylinders have been seized, and a total fine of Rs. 40,500 has been imposed  and Oil Marketing Companies have been directed to maintain sufficient stocks at all distribution points to guarantee timely and hassle-free delivery to the public.

To further strengthen consumer support, dedicated helplines have been established to attend to distress calls. Citizens are encouraged to contact the respective Assistant Directors to lodge grievances or report irregularities.

The Directorate remains committed to safeguarding consumer interests and ensuring equitable distribution of essential petroleum products during this period.
