Handwara, Sep 20: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar, on Sunday visited Handwara to review the security situation, counter-terrorism measures, law and order preparedness and overall operational readiness in the area.

IGP Kashmir was accompanied by DIG North Kashmir Range, Dr Vinod Kumar.

During the visit, SSP Handwara Tahir Saleem Khan briefed the IGP on various security and operational aspects, including ongoing counter-terrorism operations, intelligence inputs, area domination measures, security of vulnerable locations and the overall crime situation.

The IGP stressed the need for a public-friendly approach to policing, improved crime disposal and strategies tailored to ground-level requirements.

He also emphasized maintaining a high level of operational preparedness and ensuring a prompt and effective response to emerging security and law and order challenges.

IGP Kashmir appreciated the commitment and professionalism of police personnel deployed in challenging operational areas and urged all ranks to remain vigilant and continue performing their duties with dedication to ensure the safety and security of the public.
