The All India Inter-University Winter Games 2025–26, hosted by the Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), concluded here, crowning champions across multiple snow disciplines including Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, and Ski Mountaineering.
The tournament witnessed participation from universities across the country, with athletes showcasing grit, endurance, and technical excellence amid challenging snowy conditions.
Athletes from various universities braved the snowy terrain, with men and women battling in Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Parallel Slalom (Alpine Skiing); Slalom and Giant Slalom (Snowboarding); and Sprint (Ski Mountaineering). International skier Faizan Ahmad Lone of Guru Kashi University, Punjab, dominated men's Alpine Skiing, clinching gold in all three events.
The closing ceremony featured AIU Observer Dr. Rina Poonia, University of Kashmir Director Sports Dr. Surjeet Bali, Assistant Director Mr. Tausif Bhat, and a host of sports luminaries.
For this year edition of AIU winter sports 2025-26 Dr. Kaukab Azeem, I/C Director Sports at CUKashmir, served as Organizing Secretary, while Dr. Mohammad Muzamil Shah, Asst Prof. CUKashmir, was Joint Organizing Secretary and also conducted the proceedings in the closing ceremony.
