Minister for Agriculture Production Department, Rural Development Department, and Panchayati Raj, Javid Ahmad Dar, today attended a virtual meeting with the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The meeting focused on crucial agricultural issues, including fertilizer availability, crop loss or damage and initiatives like Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan and National Mission of Natural Farming.

The Union Minister emphasized the importance of providing fertilizers to farmers in a timely manner, ensuring they don't suffer due to market shortages. Strict action will be taken against those involved in black marketing of fertilizers, seeds and pesticides, he added.

He asked the Principal Secretaries to motivate the farmers to adopt natural/organic farming practices. He also directed for collecting accurate data on crop damage through proper surveys to ensure timely compensation for farmers.

The Union Minister stressed that the  approved fertilizer list will be published to inform the farmers about the substandard fertilizers.

He nvited all the Agricultural Ministers of States to participate in the upcoming Rabi Conference to be held at on September 15th and 16th, 2025.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Agriculture Production Department, Shailendra Kumar, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah and other senior officers.
