Srinagar, September 14: The University of Kashmir has introduced stricter financial controls for seminars, conferences, workshops, cultural programmes and other official events organised by its academic and administrative units.

The directions have been issued by the University's Development Section and are applicable to Deans, Heads of Departments, Directors and Coordinators responsible for organising such programmes.

As per the instructions, expenditure on university-sponsored events must be restricted to the sanctioned budget or available grants. Officials have also been directed not to incur any additional or supplementary expenditure without obtaining prior approval from the competent authority.

The directions have come into immediate effect and are aimed at ensuring that expenditure on institutional programmes remains within approved financial limits.

The University of Kashmir regularly conducts seminars, conferences, lectures and other academic and cultural activities through its various departments and centres.
