Rajouri, Mar 19: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, visited the strategically significant Jhangar Battalion in Rajouri following the successful conduct of Operation Balliyan, in which alert troops effectively foiled an infiltration attempt along the sensitive sector.Lt Gen Sharma, a senior and highly decorated officer of the Indian Army, is known for his vast operational experience and leadership in handling complex security challenges across diverse terrains. As the Army Commander of Northern Command, he oversees critical operational responsibilities in some of the most sensitive and strategically important regions of the country, including Jammu & Kashmir.During his visit, the Army Commander undertook a comprehensive review of the prevailing security scenario in the Rajouri sector and assessed the operational preparedness of the formation. He was briefed by senior field commanders on the successful execution of Operation Balliyan and the measures in place to counter infiltration attempts and maintain dominance along the border areas.Interacting with officers and jawans, Lt Gen Sharma appreciated their high level of alertness, seamless coordination, and swift action, which played a crucial role in neutralizing the infiltration attempt.
