
Srinagar, September 11: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has congratulated para archer Sheetal Devi after she clinched gold in the Women’s Compound Individual Event at Stage III of the 2026 Hyundai World Archery Para Series in Ahmedabad.
Sheetal defeated Kazakhstan’s Aizada Seidan in a closely fought final that ended 144-144 in regulation time. She sealed victory in the shoot-off with a perfect 10 on the decisive arrow.
The Kishtwar-born archer also secured a bronze medal in the Compound Mixed Team Event alongside Toman Kumar. The Indian pair defeated Iraq’s Sara Al-Hamid and Abbas Kadhim 157-145 in the bronze-medal contest.
Congratulating Sheetal, Omar Abdullah described her achievement as a proud moment for the country and wished her continued success in her sporting career.
