Jammu, August 7: A 22 year old pony operator was found dead under mysterious circumstances after his body was recovered from a water tank in the Maytal area of Katra, officials said on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Basharat Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed and a resident of Sildhar in Mahore tehsil of Reasi district.

Officials said police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and recovered the body from the water tank. The body was subsequently shifted to Community Health Centre Katra for post mortem examination.

Police have registered the case and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the death.
