
Anantnag, Oct 7: Six structures were damaged in a major fire that broke out in Qazi Mohalla, Anantnag, during the intervening night of October 6 and 7. A Fire and Emergency Services personnel was also injured while battling the blaze.
The fire triggered an immediate response from Fire and Emergency Services teams, who, with assistance from local residents, worked to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures.
Khalid Bashir, a Fire and Emergency Services employee, sustained injuries during the firefighting operation and was taken to Government Medical College Anantnag for medical treatment.
Six structures, including residential houses, suffered damage in the incident. No casualties were reported.
A preliminary assessment suggests that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
