Anantnag, Sep 2: A tourist was seriously injured after a heavy stone rolled down from a hillside and struck an Innova vehicle at Bumzoo Mattan in Anantnag district on Wednesday.
Officials said the incident occurred along the KP Road near Bumzoo Shrine when the stone suddenly came down from the hillside and hit the Innova bearing registration number JK01AT-8081.
The vehicle was being driven by Arif Dilawar Khan, a resident of Pattan, Baramulla, and was carrying six tourists travelling from Pahalgam towards Anantnag.
One of the tourists, identified as 55-year-old R. Himansu Prasad Rao, a resident of Ganjam, Odisha, sustained serious injuries in the incident. He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College Anantnag for treatment, officials said.
