
Yatra Buses, Private Car Collide on Jammu, Srinagar Highway, Eight Pilgrims Injured
Ramban, July 13: Eight pilgrims were injured after two Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation, JKRTC, buses carrying Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims collided with a private car on the Jammu, Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district on Sunday.
The impact of the collision damaged one of the buses and shattered its windowpanes, causing panic among the pilgrims travelling in the convoy.
A joint rescue operation was immediately launched by the Civil Administration, Central Reserve Police Force, Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. Rescue personnel evacuated the injured from the vehicles and shifted them to District Hospital Ramban for treatment.
Officials said all eight injured pilgrims received timely medical care and are reported to be under treatment.
The accident temporarily affected traffic movement on the highway. The damaged vehicles were later removed from the road, allowing traffic to resume.
Police have registered the incident and started an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
