Jammu, Sep 15: Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited forward areas of the Akhnoor sector on Monday and reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness of Army units deployed there, officials said.

During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on the prevailing security dynamics, operational preparedness and the readiness of formations and units stationed in the forward areas.

The Army Commander also interacted with personnel deployed at forward positions and took stock of their preparedness to respond to emerging security challenges.

The visit comes amid continued focus on strengthening operational readiness and security preparedness in forward areas of the Jammu region.

Lt Gen Sharma commended the troops for their dedication and commitment to duty and urged all ranks to maintain a high level of vigilance, responsiveness and operational preparedness.

He also emphasised the need for sustained efforts to enhance operational capabilities and ensure readiness to meet emerging security requirements.
