Pattan, Jan 29: One person was killed and another injured in a road accident involving a truck and an Eeco vehicle (JK04H 7988) at Hyderbeigh area of Pattan on Wednesday, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Rayees Ahmad Najar, son of Ghulam Nabi Najar of Hygam. He sustained critical injuries in the collision and was rushed to Trauma Hospital Pattan, where doctors declared him brought dead.
His brother, Javaid Ahmad Najar, was also injured in the accident and shifted to Trauma Hospital Pattan for treatment. Officials said his condition is stable.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
