Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A Police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO PS Uri at a checkpoint established at Lari Daragutliyan intercepted a person identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Awan son of Abdul Aziz resident of Daragutliyan. During search, 16.2 Kgs of Cannabis Powder like substances was recovered from his possession. Similarly, a police party of Police Station Kreeri at a checkpoint established at Check Tapper Crossing intercepted two persons identified as Tariq Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Sultan resident of Doolipora and Syed Imran Bukhari son of Syed Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari resident of Kreeri. During search, 30 grams of Charas like substances was recovered from their possession.
In addition, a Police party of Police Station Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Khanpora Bridge intercepted a person identified as Rashid Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Jaleel resident of Gantamulla Colony. During search, 98 grams of Charas like substances was recovered from his possession.
All the accused persons have been arrested and cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
