Sopore, Aug 22: Continuing its sustained drive against the drug menace, J&K Police in Sopore apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sopore and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.

During naka checking at Super Bazar Crossing, Sopore, a suspicious individual was intercepted. During his personal search, psychotropic substance was recovered and seized in accordance with due legal procedure. The accused has been identified as Hanan Fayaz Bhat son of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Badshah Masjid, Batpora, Sopore. Accordingly, FIR No. 207/2026 under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved.
Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and remains committed to sustained action against drug peddlers to safeguard youth and society from the menace of drugs.
