
Sopore, May 12: In continuation of the ongoing anti-drug enforcement drive under the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan, J&K Police apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking in the jurisdiction of Police Station Tarzoo.
During naka checking at Naseembagh Crossing, a suspicious individual was intercepted and apprehended. Upon personal search, psychotropic substance Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus capsules were recovered from his possession and seized as per due legal procedure. The accused has been identified as Mohammad Sultan Malik, son of Fayaz Ahmad Malik, resident of Nagrota Bypass Jammu, presently residing at Putkha Sopore. Accordingly, FIR No. 75/2026 under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved.
Police remains committed towards making the district drug-free and appeals to the general public to share any information related to drug peddling or substance abuse with the nearest police establishment.
