Residents of Mehjoor Nagar and its adjoining neighborhoods have urged authorities to urgently macadamise the Mehjoor Nagar–Natipora road, the Rambagh–Mehjoor Nagar Bund road, and the Rambagh–Jawahar Nagar Bund road—critical arteries that connect several localities. The community highlights that these roads were last macadamised approximately seven years ago and have since fallen into disrepair.
Residents voiced their frustration, stressing that the roads’ neglect is causing widespread inconvenience and risks to public safety. They appealed to the authorities for prompt intervention. In response, Chief Engineer of the R&B Department, Rafiq Ahmed, clarified that the responsibility lies with the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC). Joint Commissioner (Works), Rajinder Singh, acknowledged the residents’ suffering and assured that he would review whether the roads were included in the development plan.
