
The Department of Urology, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, in collaboration with leading national and international faculty, successfully concluded Valley Urocon 3, a two day conference featuring workshops and Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions.
Over 300 delegates participated, making the event a landmark gathering for the urology community in Jammu & Kashmir.
The conference opened with a series of insightful lectures by a distinguished national faculty, covering topics ranging from laparoscopic radical prostatectomy to emerging therapies for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Secretary, Health & Medical Education Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, who inaugurated the event, delivered the keynote address “It is heartening to witness such a high caliber academic event in Jammu and Kashmir. Valley Urocon 3 exemplifies our government’s commitment to fostering medical excellence and making advanced surgical care accessible to our citizens. The display of skill and knowledge here is a promising step towards establishing our UT as a leading hub for medical tourism and innovation. I congratulate the entire team for their exceptional work.”
The day 2 was dedicated to live surgical excellence, aligning with the conference theme “Advancing Urology Through Innovation.” Twelve advanced 3 D laparoscopic surgeries were performed, including laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, radical nephrectomy, pyeloplasty and minimally invasive BPH treatments (Rezum and Urolift).
Chief Patron Prof. Iffat Hassan Shah, Principal, Dean & Chief Patron, GMC Srinagar, commented: “Valley Urocon 3 has set a new benchmark for academic excellence in the region.
