Kupwara, Oct 20: Security forces have launched a search and cordon operation in the Dhanush Point area of Shalabatto Nar in Jumagund, Kupwara, following reports of suspected infiltrators in the area.
An exchange of fire has reportedly taken place during the ongoing operation, in which troops of the 21 Grenadiers are participating.
Officials suspect that the individuals may be hiding in a densely forested area. Security personnel have intensified searches across the surrounding terrain to trace their movement.
