
Srinagar, July 22: Social Activist and Youth Leader Muzamil Mehmood called on the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, at Lok Bhavan, Srinagar, and submitted a memorandum highlighting several important public issues concerning Beerwah Sub-District.
The memorandum sought the retention of the NH-701A alignment through Beerwah Town, emphasizing its importance for connectivity, trade, and the overall development of the region. Mehmood also urged the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor to approve the upgradation of Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Beerwah to strengthen healthcare facilities for the people of the area.
He further requested the development and upgradation of sports infrastructure across all major playgrounds in Sub-District Beerwah to encourage youth participation in sports and promote a healthy, drug-free society.
The memorandum also highlighted the plight of shopkeepers whose shopping complex collapsed during the recent floods in Beerwah, seeking adequate compensation and rehabilitation to help them restore their livelihoods.
The Lieutenant Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured that the concerns would be examined sympathetically.
Speaking after the meeting, Muzamil Mehmood expressed gratitude to the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor for his valuable time and hoped for early action on the issues raised in the larger public interest.
