Guwahati, Aug 24: Reaffirming its commitment to accessible healthcare and community welfare, formations under the Spear Corps conducted a series of medical outreach programmes across Assam, Nagaland and Manipur, extending healthcare support to veterans, their families and local communities.

As part of the initiatives, comprehensive medical camps were organised at Lekhapani and Dibrugarh in Assam for Veer Naris and dependents of Ex-Servicemen. The camps provided beneficiaries with access to medical consultations, specialist advice and essential medicines, helping address healthcare needs closer to their communities.
In Sangphur, Nagaland, a dedicated free dental camp was conducted for local residents. The initiative focused on promoting oral health awareness while providing dental consultations and necessary treatment to beneficiaries who may otherwise face difficulties in accessing specialised healthcare services.
A Multi-Specialty Medical Camp was also organised at Pallel in Kakching district of Manipur, offering consultations across multiple medical disciplines along with treatment and medicines.
The outreach programmes were aimed not only at providing immediate medical assistance but also at strengthening awareness about preventive healthcare and encouraging people to seek timely medical attention.
The initiatives assume significance in areas where geographical challenges and limited access to specialised medical facilities can make routine healthcare difficult for sections of the population. By taking medical services directly to communities, the programmes sought to bridge this accessibility gap.
The medical outreach also strengthened the community connect of the Spear Corps, reflecting an approach that combines healthcare assistance with sustained engagement with local communities and veterans.
