Western Disturbance to Trigger Fresh Spell of Rain in J&K From July 11

July 10, 2026 | BK News Service

Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience a fresh spell of rainfall from July 11 as a new Western Disturbance approaches the region, bringing wet weather to several areas over the next two days.

According to the latest weather assessment, the upcoming system is expected to draw moisture from the Arabian Sea. Although it is likely to be less intense than the recent weather event, it may still produce intermittent rain across many parts of the Union Territory.

Forecasters said scattered showers are expected at several places between July 11 and 12, while a few locations could witness short periods of heavy rainfall. The overall risk of cloudbursts is considered lower than during the previous spell, but localized intense showers cannot be ruled out because of the moisture present in the atmosphere.

The weather is expected to improve after July 12, with no significant rainfall activity forecast from July 13 to 15. However, light rain may occur at isolated places during this period.

People, particularly residents of vulnerable areas, Amarnath pilgrims and travelers, have been urged to monitor weather advisories and remain cautious while moving through hilly regions that are susceptible to landslides and flash floods.
