
Imphal, July 31: The Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, continued its outreach efforts in Manipur by organising a Security Meet in Bishnupur district and chairing a Security Interaction Meeting in Ukhrul district to strengthen coordination with local communities and promote peace.
The meetings brought together representatives of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), community leaders, local residents and security officials to discuss key issues related to public safety, communal harmony and regional development.
During the interactions, participants deliberated on the importance of maintaining communal peace, fostering mutual trust among different communities and strengthening cooperation between the public and security forces. The discussions also focused on responsible use of social media, highlighting the need to curb misinformation, rumours and inflammatory content that could disturb peace and public order.
Developmental issues affecting local communities were also reviewed, with participants sharing concerns and suggestions on improving infrastructure, public services and overall quality of life. The meetings emphasized the importance of close civil-security coordination in addressing local challenges and ensuring effective implementation of developmental initiatives.
