Srinagar, August 1: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday handed over an appointment letter to Absar Ashiq Qureshi, son of Jammu and Kashmir Police Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who was killed in the line of duty during the July 22 attack in Anantnag.

The appointment letter was presented at a function held at Raj Bhavan in the presence of the family members of the deceased police official.

During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and paid tribute to the fallen policeman for his sacrifice in the service of the nation.

He also assured the family of all possible support and reaffirmed the administration's commitment to standing by the families of police personnel who lay down their lives while performing their official duties.
