
Srinagar, July 15: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Tuesday reviewed the progress of several key public infrastructure projects, including the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) and Attendant Sarai at Children's Hospital Bemina, besides the upcoming Revenue Complex at Shalteng, and directed executing agencies to expedite work while maintaining quality standards.
At Children's Hospital Bemina, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the construction of the Foot Over Bridge, which is being equipped with escalators to provide a safe and convenient passage for patients, attendants and pedestrians, while easing traffic congestion around the hospital. He instructed officials to accelerate the pace of work to make the bridge operational at the earliest.
He also reviewed the construction of the Attendant Sarai being developed within the hospital premises to provide accommodation and basic amenities for attendants accompanying patients from different parts of Kashmir. The DC stressed timely completion so that the facility can be dedicated to the public without delay.
Earlier, at Shalteng, Labroo inspected the under-construction Revenue Complex, including the new Tehsil Office and the proposed Office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) West. He assessed the quality and progress of work and was informed that the Tehsil Office, comprising modern administrative facilities such as courtrooms, record rooms, meeting halls and public waiting areas, is nearing completion.
Emphasising the importance of timely execution, the Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agencies to maintain construction quality, adhere to approved specifications and safety norms, and ensure optimum use of public resources. He observed that the Revenue Complex would significantly strengthen administrative infrastructure and improve public service delivery in the area.
The Deputy Commissioner also called for close coordination among all departments to ensure the projects are completed within the stipulated timelines for the benefit of the public.
The inspection was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz, Joint Commissioner SMC Nuzhat Khurshid, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, senior engineers, officials of the R&B Department, Medical Superintendent of Children's Hospital Bemina Dr. A.R. Para, and other concerned officers.
