Altaf Bukhari Calls Assembly Resolution a ‘Dream’, Accuses NC of Keeping People in ‘Deception’

Srinagar, Sep 27: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has described the resolution moved in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly as a dream of the people, while accusing the National Conference of failing to translate its stated positions into action.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a party function, Bukhari said his party has no representation in the Assembly and therefore could not vote on the resolution. He alleged that the NC has historically kept people in what he described as “deception” and questioned whether the party was genuinely committed to the resolution.

Bukhari also raised questions over land purchases in Kashmir by people and companies from outside the region. Referring to specific cases, he sought clarification over the permission granted for a hotel project at Saidpora and the purchase of 150 kanals of land in Chhatargah by a company.

Targeting Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, Bukhari used the term “Bagalveer” and alleged that Sharma acts as a messenger between the BJP and the National Conference. He claimed that Sharma frequently travels between Srinagar and Delhi and carries messages between the two sides.

Bukhari also referred to the history of elections in Jammu and Kashmir since 1947, alleging that people in the region have long questioned the credibility of the electoral process. He said the wider public is now witnessing issues that, according to him, the people of J&K have experienced for decades.
