Bike Rider Killed, Four Others Injured in Achabal Road Accident

Anantnag, Aug 11: A motorcycle rider was killed and four others injured in a road accident near the stone quarry at Achabal in Anantnag district on Tuesday.

Officials said an Ignis car bearing registration number JK01AB-5445, driven by Muzammil Ahmad Ganie, son of Mohd Maqbool of Noorpora, Tral, collided with a motorcycle bearing registration number JK03F-9746, which was being ridden by Rayees Ahmad Gadda, son of Shabir Ahmad of Harhama, Sangam.

In the accident, the motorcycle rider Rayees Ahmad Gadda and pillion rider Akash Rasool Bhat, son of Ghulam Rasool of Sangam Marhama, sustained injuries.

All the injured were shifted to SDH Achabal for treatment. Doctors declared Rayees Ahmad Gadda dead on arrival.

The other injured persons were referred to GMC Anantnag for specialised treatment.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation.
