
DGP Nalin Prabhat Reviews Security Preparedness in Downtown Srinagar
Srinagar, July 13: Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat on Sunday carried out a comprehensive review of the security arrangements in Downtown Srinagar to assess the operational preparedness of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies.
The review meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar, along with other senior officers. Discussions centred on the prevailing security situation, deployment plans and the readiness of personnel stationed at sensitive locations across the old city.
During his visit, the DGP inspected several key security points, interacted with officers and personnel deployed on the ground, and evaluated the measures put in place to maintain law and order and respond swiftly to any security challenge.
Prabhat called for sustained vigilance and directed officers to strengthen coordination among security agencies, improve intelligence sharing and adopt proactive policing strategies to prevent any untoward incident.
He also underlined the importance of maintaining a people centric approach while carrying out security duties, saying that effective policing should be complemented by public trust and cooperation.
The visit is part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police's continuing efforts to strengthen the overall security framework, safeguard public safety and preserve peace and stability across the Kashmir Valley.
