Srinagar, Sep 24: The Meteorological Department has forecast mostly dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir over the next two days, followed by a short spell of wet weather in some areas from September 27.

As per the latest forecast, September 25 and 26 are expected to remain largely dry. Weather may turn cloudy on September 27 and 28, with light rain at a few places. Higher elevations could receive light snowfall, while thunder and gusty winds are also possible.

A few areas may witness brief rainfall on September 29 and 30. The weather is expected to become mainly dry again on October 1 and 2.

Another spell of generally cloudy weather is likely from October 3 to 5, with chances of light rain, light snowfall over higher reaches, thunder and strong winds at isolated places.

The department has advised farmers to utilise the dry weather for apple and paddy harvesting and other agricultural work. Farmers have also been asked to schedule spraying and harvesting activities accordingly and take precautions during thunderstorms and gusty winds.
