Handwara, Aug 29: Residents of Nagranar village in the Rajwar area of Kupwara district have raised concerns over poor mobile and internet connectivity, saying the issue has continued for several years.
According to residents, mobile networks provided by major telecom operators remain weak across the village, making it difficult to make calls or access the internet. They said the problem becomes particularly serious during emergencies, when residents are sometimes forced to move outside the locality to find a usable signal.
The lack of reliable internet connectivity has also affected students. Residents said young people face difficulties attending online classes, accessing study material and completing other educational activities that require stable internet access.
The villagers have urged the concerned authorities and telecom companies to take immediate measures to improve network coverage in the area. They have specifically called for the installation of a mobile tower in or around the locality to strengthen voice and internet services.
Residents also appealed to Kupwara Deputy Commissioner Shrikant Balasaheb and other concerned officials to intervene and coordinate with telecom operators for an early resolution of the problem.
