Shopian Police Attach Residential House Worth ₹16.77 Lakh in Drug Trafficking Case

Shopian, August 30: Shopian Police have attached a residential house valued at ₹16,77,448, allegedly acquired through proceeds generated from the illegal trade of drugs and narcotics.

The property belongs to Hilal Ahmad Dar, son of Gh Ahmad Dar, a resident of Vehil, Shopian. The attachment has been carried out in connection with FIR No. 80/2024 registered at Police Station Shopian.

The proceedings were conducted in the presence of a duly constituted police team, Executive Magistrate, Lambardar and Chowkidar. Officials said all prescribed legal procedures were followed during the action.

Shopian Police said the attachment forms part of its ongoing campaign against the illegal drug trade. The police said the focus is also on identifying and acting against assets allegedly generated through narcotics-related activities, with the aim of disrupting the financial networks that support drug trafficking.

Police have appealed to the public to share information about drug trafficking and other narcotics-related activities with the authorities.
