Jammu, November 3: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Monday said the National Conference would maintain its position despite what he described as attempts to undermine the party.
Speaking to reporters outside the Civil Secretariat following its reopening in Jammu, Choudhary said no attempt to harm the party would affect its standing.
"National Conference will always remain on top. No matter how hard someone tries, the party will not be affected," he said.
Asked about reports suggesting that a senior party leader had resigned, the Deputy Chief Minister said he had no information about any such development.
He also dismissed reports claiming that a leader had been removed from the party, asserting that no one had been expelled.
Choudhary was interacting with the media after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah received the Guard of Honour at the Civil Secretariat.
