Banks, sponsoring agencies should work in coordination: DC Bandipora

Distributes Tractor under SMAM, Capex

The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Tuesday chaired a meeting of District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) convened by Lead District Manager Bandipora.
While reviewing the performance of Banks and Government departments under various schemes, the DC directed for speedy disposal for government sponsored cases.
He advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work in coordination and cohesion to achieve the goals and targets for development progress and eradication of unemployment.
Earlier, Lead District Manager presented the performance of all banks and line departments of the district for quarter that ended September 2021.
Lead District Manager informed the house that all the banks operating in the district have extended a credit aggregating to an amount of Re 187.17 crore under priority sector and Rs 126.98 Crores under Non-priority sector against the yearly target of Rs 887.13 crores thereby registering an achievement of 24 percent in priority sector and 116 percent in non-priority sector showing an achievement of 35 percent in total annual credit plan up to 30th September.
The DC was further informed that J&K Bank alone has disbursed Rs 128.38 cr under priority sector and Rs 116.89 crores under Non-priority sector aggregating to total credit of Rs 245.27 Cr against the yearly target of 444.23 Crores showing an achievement of 55 percent.
During the meeting, Dr Owais also took review of the awareness programmes being conducted by banks. He directed the Banks to increase the frequency of holding awareness programs in rural areas to make people aware about government sponsored schemes so that more people avail the benefit.
The DC impressed on concerned that much is needed to be done in the district and there are many uncovered areas in Banking Sector including Gurez valley.
He said the line departments have to be more proactive so that all the benefits are passed on to the grass roots level of the needy people.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Parvez Rahim, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Lead District Manager Bandipora Abdul Rashid Malik, District coordinators of all Banks operating in the district and heads of various line departments of the district.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner handed over two tractors to the farmers of Gurez, sponsored under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, Sub Mission Agriculture Mechanization (SMAM) and Capex budget.
The DC handed over keys to the farmers in presence of Joint Director, Planning, Bandipora, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora, Mujtaba Yahya, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Gurez Farooq Ahmad Joo and other concerned officers of the district.
It was informed at the occasion that the Agriculture department had provided two Tractors to the farmers belonging to Tulail and Bagtore villages of Gurez Sub Division. Under the scheme, the department pays a subsidy of Rs two lac for each tractor.
The DC informed that this year 17 tractors shall be distributed among farmers out of which 10 tractors under Capex Budget while 7 tractors shall be provided under SMAM.
