Darbar Move Convoy Crosses Ramban Amid Tight Security Arrangements
Jammu, Nov 1: The annual Darbar Move convoy carrying government employees, official records and other Secretariat material crossed Ramban district along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) on Sunday morning amid heightened security and traffic management arrangements.
The convoy is travelling from Srinagar to Jammu as part of the seasonal relocation of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Secretariat and other government offices to the winter capital for the upcoming winter season.
Officials said elaborate security arrangements have been put in place along the highway to ensure the safe and uninterrupted movement of employees and government material.
The administration and traffic authorities have also made necessary arrangements to regulate vehicular movement and prevent congestion during the convoy's passage through the strategically important highway.
The Darbar Move is a long-standing administrative practice under which government offices shift between Srinagar and Jammu according to seasonal requirements. The Civil Secretariat and other offices are scheduled to resume their functioning in Jammu on November 2.
The annual relocation marks the beginning of the winter working session of the government in Jammu.
