Anantnag, July 13: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, KPDCL, has announced a planned shutdown of the 11 KV Batkoot feeder to facilitate infrastructure upgrades on the electricity transmission network.

An official order issued by the Superintending Engineer, Operation and Maintenance Circle, Bijbehara, stated that the shutdown has been approved to allow the installation of GI cross arms and GI channel iron for the newly relocated 33 KV transmission line originating from the Batkoot Receiving Station.

As per the schedule, electricity supply through the Batkoot feeder will remain suspended on July 14, 16, 18 and 20 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm each day.

The department has directed concerned field staff to complete the work within the approved shutdown period while ensuring strict compliance with all prescribed safety protocols. It has also instructed officials to notify hospitals and other essential service providers connected to the feeder in advance to reduce inconvenience.

The order states that any failure to complete the work within the sanctioned timeframe may affect the approval of future shutdown requests.

Residents and consumers receiving power through the Batkoot feeder have been advised to make necessary arrangements in view of the scheduled interruptions.
