Srinagar, July 27: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo reviewed the performance of Common Services Centres (CSCs) across Jammu and Kashmir and stressed on strengthening last-mile digital governance by taking government services closer to citizens.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary e-inaugurated 12 CSC Digital Excellence Centres established in Anantnag, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian, Srinagar, Kathua, Jammu, Reasi, Kulgam, Ramban and Samba districts. The centres will serve as hubs for digital literacy, capacity building of Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) and efficient delivery of Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services.
Highlighting the potential of over 15,500 active CSCs across J&K, Dulloo said the network should be fully utilised as the backbone of grassroots digital governance, ensuring easy access to public services for people in every region.
He directed the Revenue Department, Deputy Commissioners and CSC SPV to complete the digital crop survey through CSCs within the September deadline, enabling J&K to avail incentives under the AgriStack programme. He also called for completion of Farmer IDs under AgriStack by August 15.
The Chief Secretary further directed CSCs to take up the role of BharatNet Udyamis at Panchayat level and expand the range of services available on the platform. Departments were asked to integrate more citizen-centric services, including Labour Department services, Single Window System, YUVA, JKCIP, SEHAT, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, DigiLocker and GST-related services.
Earlier, Commissioner Secretary IT Saurabh Bhagat informed that CSCs have facilitated lakhs of transactions in areas including Aadhaar services, banking, insurance, education, digital payments and welfare scheme enrolments.
The meeting was informed that Digital Excellence Centres in Baramulla, Budgam, Bandipora, Doda, Kishtwar, Udhampur and Poonch will become operational within the next month, further strengthening digital service delivery across Jammu and Kashmir.
