Jammu, August 19: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday attended the 23rd Foundation Day celebrations of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) at Katra and congratulated the university community on the occasion.

Addressing faculty members, students and other guests, Sinha said that over the past 23 years, SMVDU has established itself as a centre of knowledge, innovation and values, producing students who have excelled professionally while contributing to society.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the university’s progress in research, patents, start-ups and skill development, and encouraged students and faculty to pursue ambitious goals in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, innovation and global collaboration.

Sinha called upon all stakeholders to work towards transforming SMVDU into a “pilgrimage centre of knowledge”, a hub for innovation and an institution that can provide direction and inspiration to society.

The Foundation Day programme was attended by university faculty, students and other dignitaries.
