Srinagar, August 10: Security measures have been intensified across Srinagar ahead of Independence Day, with police increasing frisking, vehicle inspections and surveillance at various locations across the city.

Security personnel were seen conducting checks on vehicles and their occupants at several points as part of the enhanced arrangements for August 15.

The operations involved inspection of vehicles and frisking of individuals, while personnel maintained heightened surveillance along busy roads, commercial areas and other important locations.

The increased security presence is part of preventive measures being implemented ahead of Independence Day to monitor movement and ensure safety across the city.

Motorists and commuters have been subjected to checks at multiple locations, while security personnel continue to maintain a visible presence across Srinagar as part of the arrangements for the national event.
