Summer Vacation Extended Till July 26 in Kashmir, Winter Zones of Jammu; Schools to Reopen on July 27

Srinagar, July 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has extended the ongoing summer vacation in all government and recognized private schools across the Kashmir Division and the winter zones of the Jammu Division till July 26, with classes now scheduled to resume on July 27.

 

Education Minister Sakina Itoo announced the decision, stating that it was taken in view of the prevailing weather conditions and with the safety of students, teachers, and their families as the top priority.

 

"The safety and well being of our students, teachers and families remains our foremost concern. Keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions, the government has decided to extend the summer vacation till July 26. All schools in the Kashmir Division and winter zones of the Jammu Division will reopen on July 27," the Minister said.

 

The extension comes amid forecasts of continued rainfall and adverse weather across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures to avoid any risk to school children and staff.

 

Students, parents, and school administrations have been advised to remain updated through official government notifications regarding any further changes, if required.
