Baramulla, August 30: Police have arrested three persons in connection with a house theft case in Baramulla and recovered stolen gold jewellery during the investigation.

The case was registered after a woman from Rangwar reported the theft of gold jewellery and cash from an almirah at her residence while she was away on official duty.

Following the registration of a case at Police Station Baramulla under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, police initiated an investigation and detained a suspect identified as Shabir Ahmad Khan of Kanispora.

During questioning, the accused allegedly disclosed his involvement and revealed that some of the stolen jewellery had been handed over to Ulfat Rather. Police subsequently recovered a gold ring and an earring from her residence.

Another pair of stolen gold bangles was recovered from a jewellery shop on Jadeed Link Road, Baramulla. Police said the investigation is continuing and efforts are underway to recover the remaining stolen property, including cash and another gold earring.
