Kathua, September 11: Two people were killed and three others injured after a Baleno car met with a serious accident at Sarthal Mode in Bani tehsil of Kathua district on Friday.

One of the victims, identified as Monika, 29, wife of Suveer Kotwal and a resident of Dandi Bhaderwah, died in the accident.

Another injured person, Balwant Kotwal, 61, son of Bajnath Kotwal and a resident of Dandi Bhaderwah, later succumbed to his injuries, taking the death toll to two.

The three injured have been identified as Suveer Kotwal, 33, son of Balwan Singh, Parshanta Kotwal, 59, son of Balwant, both residents of Bhaderwah, and Vikram Singh, 33, son of Ranjeet Singh, a resident of Purkhu Damana, Jammu.

The injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
