The Department of Tourism Studies, School of Business Studies, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), organised a session on "Youth, Innovation and Entrepreneurship," aimed at inspiring and empowering students to explore new opportunities within the tourism sector at varsity’s Green Campus here Monday.
The session featured Prof. (Dr.) Y. Venkata Rao, Dean, Department of Tourism Studies, School of Business Studies, Pondicherry University. Dr. Rao engaged with MBA (Tourism and Travel Management) and MTTM (Master of Tourism and Travel Management) students, offering valuable insights on the vital role of youth in driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the tourism industry.
In his lecture, Dr. Rao emphasized the growing importance of social entrepreneurship in today’s world, sharing impactful case studies of successful social enterprises that have brought about meaningful change in communities. He highlighted how youth-driven innovation in tourism can address some of the most pressing social and environmental challenges in tourism.
Following the talk, students and scholars from the department engaged in an interactive session, where they shared their thoughts and explored new ideas with the speaker.
Earlier, Dr. Ashaq H. Najar, Senior Assistant Prof. and Coordinator, DTS, gave the welcome address. Dr. Qazi Ruban, faculty member, proposed the vote of thanks.
