Doda, August 19: Non-gazetted employees of Government Medical College (GMC) Doda have renewed their protest over the delay in framing and formally notifying service rules, nearly seven years after the institution was established.
The employees said they are seeking the finalisation and official notification of service rules governing non-gazetted staff working in the newly established Government Medical Colleges.
“There is just one issue with the department: why is there such discrimination against the non-gazetted employees of the new GMCs?” a protesting employee said.
The staff members said the absence of notified service rules has left them without clear guidelines regarding their service conditions despite years having passed since the establishment of GMC Doda.
According to the employees, around 300 staff members associated with GMC Doda are affected by the issue.
They questioned the continued delay on the part of the authorities and urged the government to complete the process of framing and notifying the rules without further delay.
The protesters maintained that their demand was not for any special consideration but for a clear, uniform and formally notified service framework for non-gazetted employees of the new GMCs.
